You can never have too much fun

As a teacher, you value academics and are constantly searching for new ways to pique students’ interests and get them excited about learning. Posting fun facts around your classroom is a great way to encourage them to explore new topics. Here’s a list of educational fun facts that you and your students may find interesting:

  1. Although a giraffe’s neck is 6 - 7 feet long, it contains the same number of vertebrae at a human neck.
  2. As well as having unique fingerprints, humans also have unique tongue prints.
  3. China is the largest producer of garlic, producing over 10 million tons in 2008 and accounting for over 75% of world output.
  4. Footprints and tire tracks left behind by astronauts on the moon will stay there forever as there is no wind to blow them away.
  5. Although the Stegosaurus was over 14 feet long, its brain was only the size of a walnut.
  6. A crocodile cannot stick its tongue out.

  8. There are 293 ways to make change for a dollar.
  9. There were about 300 bones in your body when you were born, but by the time you reach adulthood you only have 206.
  10. The hottest continent on earth is Africa, where a record high of 136.4 degrees F was once recorded.
  11. Your left lung is smaller than your right lung to make room for your heart.
  12. Your eyes are the same size since birth, but your nose and ears never stop growing.
  13. An oyster can take five years just to make one pearl.
  14. James Madison was Princeton University's first graduate student.
